I made the bioplastic in 2d sheet form. Once the bioplastic is ready, I cut the sheet with a pair of scissors and then wrapped it to a column. 

The curving leaf-like form is quite simple to make: I used a heat gun to heat the edge so the bioplastic pieces softened and curved naturally.
